Fourteen weeks ago I decided to start tackling "the baby weight". A daunting 60 pounds lay before me to reach pre-baby weight, with another 20ish to 'hot pink bikini honeymoon physique'. I joined Weight Watchers and I am proud to report as of last Friday I have lost FIFTY pounds since having Levi! Having a baby inevitably changes one's body. While I realize I may never quite reach my Honeymoon-esk state, I am confident I will achieve a fit new version of my Mom figure. While healthy eating has helped me achieve my loss thus far, I have not quite been able to integrate regular exercise back into my routine yet. This is my next goal. Balancing being a full time Wife and Mommy, working a full time job while keeping up with all of life's responsibilities does not leave time for much else. My bi-weekly pedicures have become bi-monthly (if I am lucky). My hair appointments are even few and further. As the weight comes off I am reminded I need to take the next step to tone this Mommy body. I decided to give myself another boost. Weight Watchers has a new feature called 'Activelink' which tracks all your movements via a small monitor you wear. Based on your baseline it creates a program to encourage you to increase your current activity level. I added Activelink to my routine last week and I am looking forward to moving more and getting back to my previously athletic self! I hope to teach Levi that healthy eating and an active lifestyle are important and fun. I am really proud of how far I have come, with only 10 pounds remaining until pre-Levi weight. While I may never rock that hot pink honeymoon bikini again (at least sans cover-up), I am looking forward to my new, fit, healthy body and I am shooting for Levi's first birthday as my goal date. I know I can and WILL do this. For myself and for all the other Moms out there that are trying to find time to care for their own needs on top of everything else I would just like to say, "Go Mom!"
